Whether you’ve lost one tooth or many, chewing and smiling can become more difficult because of the gaps in your smile. Partial dentures are a customized and economical solution to replace missing teeth, fill in the spaces, improve chewing ability and restore your confidence to smile. This removable prosthesis fills empty spaces and prevents remaining teeth from shifting. It’s made of a metal and pink plastic or resin framework that replicates gum tissue and plastic or resin false teeth. The base of the upper denture covers the roof of your mouth, while the base of the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue. We can customize this option further with an overdenture – a removable denture that fits over a small number of remaining natural teeth or implants. While our partial dentures are a great option for patients missing teeth, they do require the help of natural teeth to provide adequate stability and support for the partial denture.
